Even when Flutter wasn’t here hosting Sessions, the impact of the project resonated throughout the ward. I would overhear people talking about the way it was changing things. The relationship between creativity and health is vital, this project is an excellent example of what it can do.

Irene, a strong, gentle Scottish woman, living with cancer.

Her brilliant blue eyes looked into my soul throughout the Session, as she recalled stories of challenge and love throughout her life.

A complex artwork for a spirit traced by experience and beauty.

I couldn’t take away the pain her body was feeling, but I could let her know she was seen and heard. I could reflect the resilience and strength I felt being expressed back to her, using the language of art. A language that can sometimes fill the spaces that words cannot.
